The UEFA Business Case for Women's Football was held on Saturday, 23 May, at Ambassaden in Oslo, Norway, bringing together senior leaders from football, media, and global sports to explore the future professionalization and sustainability of women’s football. UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin opened the event, which aligns with UEFA's women's football strategy 'Unstoppable.' The programme focused on how the next phase of growth can be driven through strong leadership, investment, and collaboration.
Discussions highlighted the importance of integrating sporting success, governance, and commercial progress to create lasting impact across the football ecosystem. Nadine Kessler, UEFA's Director of Women's Football, emphasized that the aim was to build a truly professional and sustainable game, not just growth for its own sake.
Speakers included influential figures such as OL Lyon's majority owner Michele Kang, Red Bull GmbH's Oliver Mintzlaff, UEFA Executive Committee member and Norwegian Football Federation president Lise Klaveness, England head coach Sarina Wiegman, and Sweden and Manchester United player Fridolina Rolfö. Additional contributors represented FC Barcelona, Disney+, Arsenal, the Women’s Super League, and the New York Liberty (WNBA), among others.
Participants shared insights on developing a connected ecosystem where sporting excellence, commercial growth, and long-term impact reinforce each other, helping drive the professional club and league game forward worldwide.
