President Biden has submitted to the Senate several nominations for key federal positions. These include Francis Brooke of Virginia for Deputy Secretary of the Treasury and Cameron Hamilton of Virginia for Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency within the Department of Homeland Security.

Other nominations are Brendan Hanrahan of New York for Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Karen Jean Hedlund of New York to the Surface Transportation Board, and Kari Lake of Arizona as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Jamaica. Douglas Mastriano of Pennsylvania is nominated for Ambassador to the Slovak Republic.

Additional nominees include Brett Matsumoto of Maryland for Commissioner of Labor Statistics, Douglas Ralph of Kentucky for the National Mediation Board, and Barbera Thornhill of North Carolina as Director of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking with the rank of Ambassador at Large. Nicole Saphier of New Jersey is nominated to be Medical Director in the Regular Corps of the Public Health Service and Surgeon General for a four-year term.

Further nominees include David Cummins of Virginia for Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration, Heidi Semann of Missouri for Inspector General of the Department of Education, and John Crews of Virginia for the National Credit Union Administration Board.

The White House also withdrew the nomination of Casey Means of California, previously nominated to be Medical Director in the Regular Corps of the Public Health Service and Surgeon General.
