World Aquatics recently hosted a high diving competition at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center, one of only two permanent high diving venues in the world. Junior athletes dived from 15 metres, while elite men and women competed from 27 and 20 metres, respectively.

Along with scoring and artistic evaluation, World Aquatics highlighted the unique mental and physical challenges of high diving. They identified five major realities—the 'Scary Truths'—that every diver must confront on the platform edge before jumping.
