Aleksander Čeferin describes the UEFA Foundation for Children as a strong message of support for millions of children worldwide in need. He emphasizes that the Foundation goes beyond UEFA's commitment to social responsibility by standing up for vulnerable youth and using football to inspire and empower them.

Over the past ten years, the Foundation has reached nearly five million children facing difficult conditions. Through 500 projects in almost 140 countries, it has brought hope and real change to communities. Čeferin considers this global impact just a beginning.

Čeferin recalls two visits that left a profound emotional impact: the Zaatari refugee camp, where children found joy and passion through football despite lacking basic necessities; and the Aliguma Foundation in Uganda, where football fosters empathy and resilience. He notes that these children, despite having very little, still smile, play, sing, dance, and hold onto their dreams.

The UEFA Super Cup has become an annual event celebrating the Foundation’s work. Čeferin highlights inspiring young people met through this event, such as Loukia, a visually impaired girl, Oliwia, a young amputee, and Ali Turganbekov from Kazakhstan, who aspires to win a Paralympic medal in swimming.

Looking ahead, plans are in place to extend the Foundation’s activities to more football events and finals, continuing to promote its spirit wherever football unites people.
