Founded in 2015, the UEFA Foundation for Children uses football's global appeal to support disadvantaged children and humanitarian projects. The Foundation focuses on children's rights, fighting discrimination, offering opportunities, and fostering a sense of belonging—especially highlighted during the UEFA Super Cup to promote inclusion among fans and participants.

In Piraeus, a fan festival on 16 August will bring together children from organisations like Action Aid Hellas, FC Cosmos, and A Ball for All. These children, affected by conflict, physical impairments, and deprivation, have experienced social exclusion. The festival offers fun football activities and opportunities to develop valuable personal and community skills.

Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitić, an ambassador for the Foundation, underscores the importance of inclusivity in football. He states there is no room for discrimination in sport and reaffirms the commitment of players and clubs to a safe environment for all.

During the event, children will meet members of Greece’s 2004 EURO-winning Legends 2004 team and participate in football challenges. Selected children will also visit Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, watch Sevilla and Manchester City train, interact with players, take photos, and join a kickabout session.

The day's activities highlight football’s power to instil values such as commitment, discipline, mutual aid, respect, and tolerance, showing how the sport can build connections that transcend cultural and geographic barriers.
