The 2026 Wanda Diamond League season will open in Shanghai/Keqiao on Saturday, featuring many Olympic and world champions, including world record-holders Faith Kipyegon, Mondo Duplantis, and Karsten Warholm.

A range of events, including sprints, distance races, and field competitions, will mark the start of the 14-meeting season. The women's 200m race promises a strong field with Jamaica's two-time world champion Shericka Jackson, USA's Sha'Carri Richardson, and world 200m silver medallist Amy Hunt among the competitors, along with other top sprinters.

In the men's 100m, standout athletes like Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo and multiple sub-10.00 sprinters Kenny Bednarek and Trayvon Bromell will compete, setting the stage for a fast race.

The women's 100m hurdles will feature recent global outdoor champions Ditaji Kambundji, Masai Russell, Danielle Williams, and world record-holder Tobi Amusan. Three-time world indoor 60m hurdles champion Devynne Charlton is also in the lineup. In the men's hurdles, world and Diamond League champion Cordell Tinch returns to race Olympic silver medallist Orlando Bennett and Japanese record-holder Rachid Muratake.

Karsten Warholm, a three-time world gold medallist, will contest the 300m hurdles, an event where he holds the world-best time of 32.67 seconds. He will face 2022 world champion Alison dos Santos and 2023 world silver medallist Kyron McMaster.

Swedish pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis and Faith Kipyegon are also set for their season debuts in Shanghai, maintaining their high-profile starts to the year.
